In the course of doing business with us, we may ask you to give us information about yourself, which in this policy statement we’ll refer to as your “personal information.” Or we may collect information about you via “cookies” that our website places on your computer. In this statement we explain what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect the privacy of that information.
What Information We Collect and How We Use It
Personal Information
We collect personal information from you that you volunteer to provide us, whether you join our email list or you register for one of our events. This can include your email and mailing addresses and your telephone number. We will use this information to process any orders you place with us. We will also use it to contact you about events for which you have registered. And we will use it to contact you about upcoming events in which you might have an interest.
We may provide your personal information to our service providers, but only the information that they need to perform their tasks.
If you place a credit card order with us, we will use the credit card specific information that you provide us to process that order (number, expiration date, and security code). We will not retain this information beyond the time necessary to process that order.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone for any purpose.
We do not share your personal information with anyone outside of Moving Tiger for any marketing or other promotional use.
We may disclose or report personal information in limited circumstances where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required under the law. For example, we may be required to disclose personal information to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement authorities, to comply with a legal process such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, or a law enforcement request.
Cookies
When you visit our website and online registration we may place “cookies” on your computer, as most websites do. These cookies allow us to track information about your activities on our website such as your shopping cart and which areas of the site that you visit. We do not track you once you leave our site.
You can choose not to accept our cookies, but you may not be able to use certain features of our site, especially online registration. Most browsers accept and maintain cookies by default. Use the “Help” information on your browser to find out how you can manage what cookies you accept.
Access to Your Information
Within Our Company
We store any personal information that we receive from you - over the phone, in person, or via our online registration - in our computer system in encrypted form. Only trained staff persons with multiple passwords have access to this information. If we initially receive your information in written form on paper, we quickly transfer it into our computers and shred the paper.
Our computers are protected with firewall, antivirus, and spyware protection. We use three different programs to monitor for spyware activities.
We train our staff who have access to this information about the importance of maintaining your privacy. Our staff never divulges your information to any one beyond our authorized staff without your permission.
Our Service Providers
We currently work with three companies who provide us – and you – with services in such a way that they have access to personal information of yours. All are considered to be leaders in their industry. They have their own policies for how they protect the personal information of yours that they gain access to.
1. GoDaddy.com hosts our website and online registration. For their privacy policy, click here.
2. Quickbooks Merchant Services processes our credit card transactions. For their privacy policy, click here.
3. Constant Contact provides us with our email marketing and newsletter services. For their general privacy policy click here. For their email privacy policy, click here.
Transmitting Your Credit Card Information over the Internet
When your or our computers communicate with each other or with any of these service providers, all credit card specific information (number, expiration date, security code) is conveyed with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.
The SSL protocol has become the universal standard on the Web for authenticating sites and for encrypting communications between users and Web servers. With SSL, all information is encrypted by the sending software and decrypted by the receiving software, protecting private information from interception over the Internet.
In addition, all data sent over an encrypted SSL connection is protected with a mechanism for detecting tampering - that is, for automatically determining whether the data has been altered in transit. This means that you can confidently send private data to our website, trusting that SSL keeps it private and confidential.
Within your internet browser you can tell if you are connected to a site that is using SSL encryption. The website address in your browser will begin with “https”, and you will see an icon somewhere in your browser that looks like a locked padlock.
How You Can Opt Out of Information about Upcoming Events From Us
The primary method through which we will communicate with you about upcoming events in which you might have an interest is through email. Our email service provider is Constant Contact.
Each email we send via Constant Contact contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us, or to change your expressed interests. If you wish to do this, simply follow the instructions at the end of any email.
We may also send you information about upcoming events via regular mail. If you wish us to stop doing so, simply contact us.
