I started practicing chi gung energy exercises in 1997, a year after I was diagnosed with a rare, genetic lung disease which is progressive and often fatal. After enduring 6 surgeries, over 40 lung collapses, and increasing shortness of breath, I had to go on disability in 2001.
Even though I am considered to be in the category of severe lung disease, I can still practice chi gung every day, and the Moving Tiger Method exercise system has been an important part of my daily routine. I find I have to use supplemental oxygen very little considering my condition, my oxygen saturations remain quite high, and I haven’t had a cold or an infection for years.
One of the greatest gifts the exercise system has given me is the ability to keep moving and keep my immune system healthy at times when my body has been able to do little else physically. The moves are gentle and easily adjusted to your own abilities, and yet amazingly effective.
I also highly recommend Bill as an excellent teacher who embodies the patience and energy of the system.
I would encourage anyone who is somewhat limited physically, and has permission to exercise from their doctor, to give the Moving Tiger Method a try! I strongly believe that chi gung has dramatically improved my quality of life.
