I have been studying chi gung (aka qigong) energy exercises with Bill Ryan (and his teacher, Bruce Frantzis) for more than a decade, and it is not an exaggeration to say that that experience has had a profound effect on all aspects of my life.
Without a doubt, I am a different, and much better artist because of my ongoing practice. Chi gung has given me access to the enlivening energetic reality that underlies my life and the life of the world, and in so doing, has expanded the depth and breadth of my work – and that of my students with whom I have shared my experiences – in ways I never could have imagined.
My spiritual life has also been enhanced. Chi gung has strengthened my mind/body connection, helping me to bring my meditation practice to another level and to access knowledges that would otherwise be inaccessible to me.
However, without a strong and healthy body, all this would be of limited value. This is where the Moving Tiger energy exercise system shines. It is especially designed to promote physical health and wellbeing, while teaching you how to feel and access your life energy. My own daily practice has given me strength and stamina to spare. Best of all, the Moving Tiger exercises can be done anytime, anywhere, making them always available whenever one needs an energy boost, or to ameliorate the inevitable stresses of daily life.
Finally, I would like to express my unlimited enthusiasm for Bill as a teacher. Having spent many years teaching artists at the university level, I know how difficult it is to teach non-linear material. No one does it better than Bill. His depth of knowledge is matched only by his exquisite sensitivity to the needs of his students. He is a remarkably gifted teacher who brings his material alive – indeed, he is its embodiment – and his unique teaching method makes the invigorating Moving Tiger energy exercises accessible to everyone.
