I have greatly enjoyed the Moving Tiger Method workshops that I have taken so far. Each workshop has been like a small, very relaxing vacation! And within 3 months of my beginning to practice this form I noticed some minor health problems start to recede.
Bill Ryan is an excellent teacher: clear, organized, friendly, supportive, and very knowledgeable.
I have studied and practiced qigong off and on for a number of years with various teachers, and I was puzzled as to why I would sometimes struggle with insomnia the more I practiced. Bill was the first teacher to point out that my "qi" (vital energy) wasn't getting back down to my feet during the exercises (important from a Chinese medical standpoint for good sleep), and Eureka! Problem solved.
The practice DVD has also been invaluable for review. I've taken weekend qigong workshops in the past but would be left scratching my head afterwards to try to remember what had been taught.
In my first "Refinements" workshop I was a bit stunned and pleasantly surprised to glimpse a bit of the depth and complexity that one can take this practice to -- most of my other qigong studies involved "OK, just learn these moves and do them over and over again." Bill's many years of experience and deep level of understanding have been invaluable in highlighting some of the subtleties of this form of exercise.
I recommend qigong to many of my acupuncture clients as a magnificent form of self-care. I think of it like a daily mini-acupuncture treatment, excellent for both prevention of disease and management of any current health problems.
Studying with Bill is a true pleasure, and I am very happy to have such an exceptional teacher to whom to refer my patients.
