I was tired and stressed one cold December, and I wanted to find something that would improve my energy. I knew how to push myself and also how to let go on vacation, but not how to feel alive with soft relaxed energy everyday.
I found the Moving Tiger energy exercise system in 1994 and have practiced it ever since. Practicing this simple yet endlessly interesting set of movements re-connects me, I find all my limbs and joints and bones and skin and fluids, not to mention the thoughts and feelings for which I may have had no time or energy or space (or sometimes desire) to be with.
As a psychotherapist I sometimes take in too much of others’ energies or take on too much unhelpful responsibility. Having a practice like this helps me to be spacious, grounded and present again.
It’s difficult to separate the teaching from the teacher. Bill Ryan is a great teacher in every sense of the word. He will take you right to the door of your own experience with wisdom, humor, respect and kindness. I would study anything he is teaching.
